Stage 3 group project: Design of a light shading device.
Diamond louvres obscure and reflect light

Shades opening in dark light levels

Full closed shade
I chose to automate the device using Arduino electronics.
A light sensor, mounted in the front of the frame, controlled the number of shades that would turn to open. The more light present, the more shades would close.
Studio demonstration
PV Integration - panels mounted to the louvres would allow for the collection of electricity and the rotational mechanism would allow the louvres to automatically face the sun throughout the day.
User override - local internal controls could allow for opening or closing of the certain shades.
Materials - The louvres could be cheaply manufactured from plastics allowing a huge range of colours and finishes to be applied.
